Bangor -
Smoke in the cockpit caused a plane to make an emergency landing at Bangor International Airport Wednesday evening.
Interim Airport Director, Tony Caruso, says the Scandinavian Airline Airbus had nearly 250 people on board and was headed from Newark, New Jersey to Copenhagen, Denmark.
No injuries have been reported and Caruso says all passengers are now off the plane.
"We smelled smoke and the flight attendants ran to the back and we really didn't know what was going on, so we were a little worried then they said we're landing in Bangor and luckily we landed safe," said passenger Ruby Weldon.
"They're secure. Everybody understands the bigger picture and they're all just happy that they are safe in Bangor," said Caruso.
The flight has been cancelled for the evening and Caruso says the airport is working to book passengers on a flight tomorrow.
