Bangor Residents Beat the Heat at Local Pools

3

Bangor - High temperatures had people enjoying the local pools.

The Beth Pancoe Municipal Pool in Bangor made a splash today.

Their season started last saturday, but today people were taking full advantage of all of the water activities. There was even a 20 minute wait for the big slide!

Lifeguards met early this morning to make sure all safety precautions were in place. Even though the pools were packed, the parks and recreation workers love the busy season.

Logan George, Supervisor of Park and Recreations Aquatics, said "I really like when there's a lot of people. It's fun, we get to have a lot of fun with the patrons. It's really fast and the day goes by quickly."

Students who are off from school are enjoying the pool as well. Faith Fugel, an 11 year old, said "I can wait til schools over so when it's a hot summer I can go in the pool here."

With school out for summer, nearly 600 people packed the pool today. Starting tomorrow at 1,the Brewer Municipal pool will also be open.
