Peace and Justice Center of Eastern Maine March in Bangor for War on Poor

Bangor - The Peace and Justice Center of Eastern Maine is inviting the public to march with them to stop what they call "the war on the poor."

Members of the group gathered in downtown Bangor to demonstrate growing inequality in the U.S.

A dozen different groups are coming together tomorrow for a 2-mile walk past seventy agencies in downtown Bangor that serve low income people.

"Poverty is growing so that the people that we used to think of as poor middle class are now falling into poverty and that's what this exercise will demonstrate," says Ilze Petersons of the Peace and Justice Center of Eastern Maine.

The walk to stop the war on poor is Saturday at noon at Pierce Park in downtown Bangor.
