Bangor Parks And Recreation Department Wants Families to Go Outside this Father's Day

3

Bangor - This weekend is father's day and the bangor parks and recreation department is encouraging folks to celebrate dad by going outside.

The city of Bangor has declared this weekend as "Explore Bangor Trails Weekend."

To kick off festivities, a ribbon was cut at the new East West Loop Trail, a four mile walk that's designated as a Healthy Maine Walk.

City Councilor Ben Sprague is one of the people behind the initiative.

He says it's part of a larger effort to showcase what a great place Bangor is to live. He hopes it will become a Father's Day tradition.

"I remember exploring out in the woods with my dad, grandfathers, a lot of special memories so hopefully more folks in the area will make more memories this weekend," Sprague said.
