King Says his Election Will Tell Washington to Start Listening to the Middle

3

Bangor - Independent U.S. Senate candidate and former Governor Angus King joined his supporters on the Penobscot River waterfront in Bangor on Thursday.

He was there to announce his county chairs, but he also took time to discuss his campaign.

King says Tuesday's primary results and knowing his challengers doesn't affect his campaign strategy. He says it's all about bringing change to Washington.

"What I'm finding is that I think I'm on to something politically, that the people are so tired of what's going on in Washington. They really want change and you know what, eventually the people in Washington will listen. And I'm hoping that my election, if I'm fortunate enough to be elected by the people of Maine, will itself send a signal, you better start listening to the middle, you better start talking to each other, you better start solving problems," said King.
