Bangor -
When troops arrive at Bangor International Airport, they'll now have a new place to enjoy being back on American soil.
On Thursday, the airport held a ribbon cutting for the Maine Troop Greeter Pavilion and Garden.
It's dedicated to troop greeters, but they hope the troops themselves will use it.
It's all in an effort to help American troops feel welcomed and comforted when they return from overseas. It's a mission both the airport and the greeters share.
"It's great, between the airport and the troop greeters, the relationship is unreal. They've helped us a lot and I think we've helped them a little bit," said Norman Rossignol of Bangor, who's been a troop greeter for about 7 years.
The airport, the Four Points by Sheraton hotel and many other local businesses worked together to fund and build the pavilion.
