Auburn -
A 21-year-old Lewiston man has pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge in the death of a woman whose body was found buried in the basement of a Lewiston apartment building.
The Sun Journal of Lewiston says Bob Ryder entered the plea Tuesday in Androscoggin County Superior Court in Auburn. He had initially been charged with murdering 38-year-old Danita Brown of New Gloucester. Brown's decomposing body was found last July after she had been missing for several
weeks.
Court documents say Ryder admitted he had hit Brown in the head
with a clock and hid her body.
Justice Mary Gay Kennedy said she'll set a sentencing date after
a pre-sentence investigation. Ryder faces a sentence of up to 30
years. (AP)
