Winslow girls basketball has a new coach. Lindsey Welch has been named to the post.
Welch is pretty well known in Eastern Maine as a player for Nokomis when
the girls team won the state title in 2001.
Over the last five years Welch has been an assistant coach at USM where she played in college as well as at Westbrook and Nokomis high schools.
Lindsey will meet with the girls at Winslow Tuesday afternoon.

In Sierra Buttes, Calif., two boys hiked up a jagged cliff and ended up stranded 8,000 feet up. The California Highway Patrol sent a chopper and had to lower a harness to carry them to safety, since climbing down was not an option. Scott Pelley reports.
