In Hermon, the Hawks hosting Presque Isle for girls prelims in tennis.
The 3rd singles matchup was between Melissa Carson of the Wildcats
and Margaret Pierce of the Hawks. Carson with a nice return that Pierce can't catch up with. But Pierce would win in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4.
On the court next door, Hermon's Jessica Allen with a nice cross court shot
that Presque Isle's Kayla Girardin can't send back over the net. Allen wins this match, 6-1, 6-3.
The Hawks win, three matches to two, and will head to Ellsworth tomorrow for the quarterfinals.
