Waterville -
Renewing a driver's license just got a whole lot more convenient in Central Maine.
AAA in Waterville can now renew your license and can provide a duplicate for folks who lose their licenses.
Secretary of State Charles Summers was at the AAA branch on Washington Street to announce this new public-private partnership.
The Waterville location is open weekdays from 8:30-5:00 and Saturdays 9:00-1:00.
You need to bring the proper identification to get your license there. Summers says this could be just the beginning. "We're at the point where, if this is as successful as we think it will be here in Waterville, it won't be long until this expands to the other nine locations AAA has in the state of Maine," Summers told the small crowd assembled in Waterville Monday. "With no additional cost to the state."
Eric Cyr. President at AAA of Northern New England, said 22 other states are now using the auto club to help provide state motor vehicle services.
