I for one have no problem with helping those that have found themselves in bad situations or are working at minimum wage and unable to provide for their children. My problem is when people could work whether the husband work days and the wife a few hours at night or something to this effect and make no attempt. It is totally unacceptable to expect me among thousands of others working and paying taxes to be expected to pay to feed someone and/or their children because they Choose not to work. Quitting ones job to stay home with the children and then receiving food stamps along with other benefits should not be allowed. I feel that since the start of these programs we have lost sight of what they were intended to be and that was to help the less fortunate and those who found themselves out of work through no fault of their own. I work very hard everyday, do not make a lot of money and am not able to purchase many things I would like so why should I pay for others that for some reason decided it was due them; therefore, the taxpayers should pay?

I have no problem helping individuals who have found themselves unemployed or are only getting minimum wage and are struggling to feed themselves and their family. It does no good in some situations for both parents to work when the wages of one parent goes to a babysitter or daycare. What I do object to is anyone receiving help and being able to buy alcohol or tobacco. Taxpayers should not have to pay for any ones alcohol, tobacco or drugs, they take needed help from those who really need the help. Any one who can work should be working not sitting around, the taxpayers do not owe a lazy individual a living. If any of the state programs allows individuals to buy alcohol or tobacco this needs to be stopped immediately.
