The UMaine softball team is battling for the 4th and final spot in the America East Conference Tournament, which is right around the corner. Boston University is trying to earn the number one seed so they can host the tourney. For those reasons, it was important to play today's game, even in the rain.
Maine leading 2-1 in the third and threatening for more. Hilary Kane with a frozen rope, but BU makes a beautiful play on defense to end the Black Bear threat.
Top of the 6th, same score, but Chelsea O'Connor of BU with a no-doubter off Ashley Kelley. The Terriers would score three more times in the 7th, and they beat Maine today, 5-3 the final.
