UMA Bangor Library Named After Former Librarian

2

Bangor - A new name graces the door of a local library.

The library at the University of Maine at Augusta Bangor campus will now be known as the Nottage Library.

It's named after former librarian, Judith Nottage.

She spent years managing the place before retiring a few years ago.

During a ceremony held Tuesday in her honor, she said she is touched by the tribute.

"It's simply wonderful. This has been pretty much my working life. I have had a few other jobs at other libraries, but this place I came to in 1981 and stayed," said Nottage.

Nottage worked at the library for 27 years.
