Howland -
A Freeport man found dead in Howland Wednesday morning died by suicide.
The medical examiner says Dean Levasseur, 24, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Police say a handgun Levasseur had purchased earlier in the month was found with his body.
Levasseur was last seen Saturday night at an outdoor party in Howland called Chickenfest.
Levasseur was scheduled to perform with his band at Chickenfest, but never made it to the stage Saturday night.
Searchers found Levasseur's body about a quarter mile from the stage area.
State Police detectives say their investigation indicates that Levasseur likely shot himself about 1:30 Sunday morning.
