The Mariners looking to improve on their 18-2 record from last season,
on the road in Searsport.
They came out strong out of the gate. Top 1st, already 1-0 Deer Isle-Stonington and it's Moriah Nutter with an RBI single up the middle, scores Chelsea Brown, and it's 2-0 Mariners after one.
Sydney Ouzts on the mound. She was the star last year on the hill and started off 2012 strong as well. Bottom 1st, she gets Rochelle Stone looking. Deer Isle-Stonington would add a couple more in the second to take a 4-0 lead, and they'd finish with a big win, 15-1 the final. I did get to chat with Ouzts and Janelle Coimei before the game and they stressed that they're just as hungry this year as they were last year for a Class D crown.
