High school baseball teams can't use the old aluminum bats this year for the first time. College baseball teams had to make the switch last year for safety reasons.
The new BBcor bats reduce the speed that the ball can be hit. It's more like wooden bats, and some teams are using those too.
We spoke with two Bangor high players about the new bats.
