Plowman, Dunlap Submit Signatures For US Senate

2

A Maine State Senator is now officially in the running for the US Senate seat, left open by Olympia Snowe.

Senator Deb Plowman handed in the required signatures to be listed on the November ballot Wednesday afternoon.

Senator Plowman becomes the fourth Republican to do that so far.

Secretary of State Charles Summers, Rick Bennett, and Scott D'Amboise have also turned in signatures.

And there is now officially a Democratic party member in the race.

Former Secretary of State, Matt Dunlap, turned in the required signatures Wednesday morning.

Dunlap is the first, and currently the only Democrat to do so.

Candidates have until Thursday to turn in the required signatures to run in November.
