Another top seeded boys team from Eastern Maine will play for a gold ball this weekend. The Jonesport-Beals Royals from Class D are looking to bring home their first state title in 19 years. Here's Nick Coit on their quest for a championship.

I appreciate the story on our boys going for the state title.May I respectfully ask that you not call our team Jonesport.It is hurtful and disrespectful to the players from Beals who have dedicated their time and efforts towards representing JBHS as well.Garet Beal,Justin Alley,Vinal Crowley,Matt Alley,Leon Smith,Cole Beal and others on this team grew up playing for Beals.The island has had a rich basketball tradition for decades and its frustrating when it seems to be overlooked to save time.
