Beach volleyball, sack races and floor hockey. The students at Fort O'Brien School in Machiasport sure know how to celebrate a milestone in style. They're marking the 100th day of the school year.
"The kids are working hard all year long. In addition to just having fun today, the classes that organized it learned a lot about planning, about organizing and community service," said Event Organizer, Tom Manship.
The school has been doing several different competitions throughout the week. Crazy hair day was a hit.
"I died my hair purple and curled it," said sixth-grader, Brielle Davis.
"There's been some great competition going on. So everyone knows our class is ahead and proud of it," said Manship.
School officials recognize that sometimes kids just need to be kids.
"I learned how to be a better organizer," said Davis.
