Maine Caucuses

Maine's nonbinding presidential straw poll drew virtually none of the hype surrounding recent contests in Florida and Nevada, where candidates poured millions of dollars into television and radio advertising.

Romney's campaign placed only a small cable television ad buy airing Friday and Saturday, at a cost of several thousand dollars.

But he sent surrogates to Maine in recent days and hosted a telephone town hall in addition to Friday's campaign stop.

Ron Paul made three appearances in the state Saturday, producing cheers and chanting at stops in Sanford and Lewiston. He acknowledged the significance of the Maine contest for his
candidacy.

Maine's caucuses get the nation's attention due to their timing.

Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri had their contests Tuesday, and the next contests are Feb. 28 in Arizona and Michigan.

MAINE, WASHINGTON COUNTY HAS VOTED. BALLOTS SHOULD HAVE BEEN SECURED UNTIL THE COUNT ON THE 18TH. SEEMS LIKE THE BALLOTS COULD HAVE BEEN COUNTED FEB 13TH BUT AS LONG AS THE COUNT IS HONEST, OKAY; BUT MAINE, WASHINGTON COUNTY MUST MAKE THAT DETERMINATION. ANY FUNNY STUFF SUSPECTED THEN I THINK WASHINGTON COUNTY SHOULD BE ABLE TO RE-VOTE
