Bangor - Two meetings are scheduled for the next month in Bangor to talk about a proposed Neighborhood Revitalization plan.

The plan is to revamp the area between Main Street to Third Street and Union Street to Buck Street.

It's going to be done in three phases, the first part will focus on the area to First Street and the lower half of Cedar Street.

But before they make any concrete plans or time tables the City Council wants to get input from the community.

It is going to be a big project and cover a number of topics, and will be for both residential and commercial properties.

"Ultimately the goal is to make the area a better place to live," said Bangor City Councilor James Gallant. "We want to increase home values, we want to increase public safety in that area, we want to draw businesses in we want new lighting, better infrastructure such as sidewalks, new sewer, those types of scenarios, so it's a broad picture."

The first meeting is this Wednesday night starting at 6 o'clock at the Doughty School on Fifth Street in the Auditorium.

March first another meeting will be held at the same time in the same place.
