Auburn -
Police say a medical emergency is to blame for a fatal accident in Auburn Sunday.
Authorities say 37-year-old Matthew Harris of Arundel was driving west on Minot Avenue when he suffered a medical emergency and lost control of his car.
They say he crossed the center lane and slammed into a vehicle being driven by 43-year-old Rick Farr of Auburn.
Police say Farr was killed instantly.
The accident forced Harris' vehicle into a utility pole, which knocked out power to about 150 people.
Harris was taken to Central Maine Medical Center, where he's listed in critical condition.
Harris' passenger, 35-year-old Sherri Walkeling of Arundel is in satisfactory condition.
