Orono -
University of Maine accounting students are getting a hands on learning experience while helping people file their taxes.
The students will be at the Orono Public Library on select dates this month and next month.
UMaine Professor Steven Colburn will supervise the students.
He says he reviews all tax returns before they are filed and all of the paperwork is confidential.
Colburn suggests taxpayers schedule an appointment.
"There's nothing like hands on experience to help you learn something and solidify what you've learned," he said.
The service is free and taxpayers with an annual income less than 57-thousand dollars are eligible.
To make an appointment, contact steve colburn at 581-1982.
