Augusta -
Folks took to the streets outside the Federal Building in Augusta Friday in protest of the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act.
They're angry that Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins both signed it.
They say under the act American Military can arrest and detain people on American soil if they're considered to be a threat to national security.
"I mean it's our Bill of Rights. Why should we allow a government to usurp our Bill of Rights? Those people swore to uphold and defend the Constitution and instead they are taking our constitutional rights away. Why am I here? Because I'm mad as can be," said protester, Cathy Mink.
They delivered a statement they prepared to the offices of both senators.
