Beddington -
A tractor trailer crash in Beddington Wednesday morning shutdown a portion of Route 9 for much of the day.
Two trucks headed in opposite directions collided, sending one into a row of utility poles and the other into a ditch.
It sparked a fire in the cab of a truck owned by Clarke Road Transport.
Police tell us the driver lost control and ran into a Webber Oil truck, knocking it onto its side.
The Webber truck was loaded with propane, but did not catch fire.
Both drivers escaped with minor injuries.
Sgt. Randy Perry of the Washington County Sheriff's Department says looking at the damage, they were lucky.
"It could've been fatal. We're very lucky that it wasn't a lot worse than it is. Everybody walked away."
The crash knocked out power to nearly 200 Bangor Hydro customers in Washington County.
The company says they have to replace several poles to restore service, and expect power to be out until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
While crews are working on the road, drivers traveling on Route 9 will be detoured away from the crash.
If you're heading east, you'll be diverted to 193, while drivers going west will have to take 192.
