Aurora -
Catch some fish and do something nice for military families, that's what folks could in Aurora Saturday.
It was the second year for the House in the Woods Ice Fishing Derby on Great Pond.
It's a retreat for military families.
The House family in Lee started it, in honor of Sergeant Joel House who was killed in action in Iraq five years ago.
Those staying at the house are treated to all sorts of outdoor expeditions.
Saturday's derby will help with some of the costs.
" We're able to help more veterans because of this. A lot of people kind of by themselves and shut-ins. They get word that there's an event going they come out and they begin to join our project actually," said Paul House.
" Myself and most of the people organizing this are veterans themselves. It's just a great organization to get together with other veterans from different branches and see what they dealt with. It builds camaraderie between all of us. It's just a cool thing to do," said Volunteer, Andrew Morrow.
