Four Airlines Competing to Provide Service to Two Airports in Maine

Four airlines are competing to fly in and out of the Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport in Trenton and the Northern Maine Regional Airport in Presque Isle.

Air Choice One, Peninsula Airways and Sovereign Air have all applied for service out of both airports.

Cape Air wants to fly out of Bar Harbor only.

Colgan Air tried to break its contract with the U.S. Department of Transportation in September.

The D-O-T told them to stay put until a replacement airline could be found.
