Meeting in Aroostook County Focused on LePage's Proposed Supplemental Budget

Presque Isle - There was another meeting in Aroostook County Wednesday on the governor's proposed supplemental budget.

Tuesday a standing room only crown packed together to talk about it in Fort Kent with Governor LePage in attendance.

Wednesday folks gathered at Northern Maine Community College in Presque Isle.

Again, much of the focus was on the governor's proposed medicaid cuts.

The governor did not attend Wednesday's meeting but his senior health policy advisor, Katrin Teel, was there and got an earful.

"The governor was not able to be here today because of a scheduling conflict but my role here is to represent the governor's office and most importantly to hear what the people had to say to hear what were their concerns, what were their needs what were their questions, to gather this information and speak with legislators who we've been communicating with and see what do people feel, what do they need, what do they hope for and what can we do," said Teel.

The governor says he's always willing to listen to Mainers' views.

He says difficult decisions have to be made to balance the budget and help the state move forward.
