Waterboro -
A lawyer for a Maine high school teacher
accused of having sex multiple times with a 15-year-old male
student says his client is innocent.
Jessica Pomerleau, a teacher at Massabesic High School in
Waterboro, made her first court appearance Thursday.
The 36-year-old Limerick woman did not enter a plea on charges
of gross sexual assault and aggravated unlawful furnishing of
scheduled drugs because she has not yet been indicted. She is due
back in court in March.
The school district has put her on leave.
The York County Sheriff's Department says most of the encounters
took place in Pomerleau's car.
Her lawyer said after court on Thursday that the police
affidavit in the case is merely a `snapshot" that does not tell
the whole story. (AP)
