Litchfield -
The state fire marshal's office is investigating a fire that destroyed a house and a barn in Litchfield.
The fire chief says crews were called to the property on Plains Road shortly after 5:30 this morning.
He says the fire "got a big jump" on them and both buildings were up in flames when crews got on scene.
A horse that was inside the barn was able to get out.
The buildings were burned to the ground.
