Waterville -
The head football coach for Colby College put in his resignation Friday.

The school's Website says Ed Mestieri has been coaching at Colby for 23 years, 8 of those as head coach.
Vice President of Communications for the college, Michael Kiser tells TV-5 coach, Mestieri stated he felt it was time for the program and himself to take a different direction, as his reason for resigning.
No word on rather his resignation is connected with the allegations.
