Autopsy Results Released for Man Allegedly Shot by Dispatcher
Dover-Foxcroft -
Officials say a Maine sheriff's department dispatcher died of a single gunshot wound to the torso in a shootout with police after witnesses saw him fatally shoot his wife's ex-husband.
The attorney general's office says the autopsy on 46-year-old
Michael Curtis, a Piscataquis County Sheriff's Department
dispatcher, was completed Wednesday.
Police say Curtis went to the Hilltop Manor nursing home in
Dover-Foxcroft to kill 53-year-old Udo Schneider on Tuesday.
Schneider, a maintenance worker, was shot multiple times, and news
photos suggest upward of a dozen shell casings.
Police then tracked Curtis to a nearby fairground where he was
shot by a state trooper.
An autopsy on Schneider was under way Wednesday afternoon.
Curtis was married to Schneider's former wife, but police have not
indicated the motive for the shooting.
