Local Girl Asks for Donations for Bangor Humane Society Instead of Birthday Gifts

2

Bangor - A local girl is doing quite the self-less act.

Ten-year-old Abby Call had her birthday party at Great Skates in Bangor, but she put a twist on it.

Instead of having the party-goers bring her a gift, she asked them to bring something she can donate to the Bangor Humane Society.

Her mother says she is always thinking about others.

Abby says a friend of hers did something similar and she thought it was a great idea.

" We got dog toys, cat treats and dog treats. We got some cat food and wet, canned dog food," said 10-year-old, Abby Call.

" Most kids are thinking about what am I going to get for my birthday? But she wanted to give to the humane society instead. I was pretty proud of her," said Abby's mother, Tami Call.

They plan on delivering all the items to the Bangor Humane Society next weekend.

Abby, I am so proud of you. This sounds like the sort of thing you would do. You are going to make one great veterinarian one day. Love always. Your cuz Joey.
