1 3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 cup water
Combine the chocolate with the 1/4 cup water. Stir over low heat to melt. Remove and set aside. Combine in a large bowl the sugar, margarine, vanilla and beat until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each one. Blend in the melted chocolate. Stir in the flour, soda and salt. Alternating with the one cup of water. Batter will be thin. Pour into 2, 9 inch greased and floured round cake pans. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes or until tooth pick inserted in center of cake comes out clean. Frosting: 1 16 oz. pkg. confectioner sugar, 6 tbl. margarine 3 1/2 tbl. baking chocolate 2 tsp. vanilla 3 to 4 tbl. of milk or half and half. Tip: I put a layer of chocolate pudding in between cake layers along with a layer of frosting. Yum; Yum;
