UMaine Football Gets Surprise Visitor at Practice


Orono - The Black Bears continued their preparations for this Saturday's contest with the Towson Tigers. The teams sit 1 and 2 in the CAA standings.

The Black Bears also got a surprise appearance from University President Paul Ferguson. The team presented him with a Maine football jacket. Ferguson is a big college football fan and spoke to the team after practice. The Black Bears appreciate that their strong season is being noticed.

”It's good for the guys because they work so hard and getting some support is awesome. Getting some people energized about the program is good for the guys. It's good for their morale.

“It's cool. I'm glad to see that he's out here and supporting us. He's a good guy. I like him a lot. I think he's going to do some good things for this school.”

UMaine football plays Towson on Saturday afternoon here on TV5. Kickoff is at 12-30.
