Augusta -
Wednesday was earth science day at the Maine State Museum in Augusta.
Around 700 kids from nearly 20 schools came to augusta for the event. 15 presenters were on-hand to show kids everything from panning for gold, to the benefits of recycling, and even cutting open a piece of granite that's more than 400-million-years old.
Kids also learned about the benefits of solar and wind energy. Marianne Cataldo from the Maine Conservation Corps was the presenter teaching the kids about renewable energy. "They love it," she says, "they're really excited as you just saw. They love getting their hands on everything. And seeing it actually happen in front of them."
