Waterville -
The link between chemicals, overweight kids and diabetes was discussed in Waterville Friday.
The Environmental Health Strategy Center and Colby College environmental studies program hosted the event.
Organizers say there is new research that suggests household chemical exposure could be playing a big role in childhood obesity.
They tell us a big culprit is BPA.
They want policy makers to continue pushing forward with things like the Kids Safe Act.
" The human health impacts and the social and economic monetary costs of obesity and diabetes in this country are huge. It's critical for all of us to address every factor in the obesity epidemic we can. Our mission as an organization is to get dangerous chemicals out of everyday household products."
