New Store Offers Gas Special During Opening Celebration

Milo - Tradewinds Market in Milo opened last March, but it wasn't until recently that the final phase of construction was complete.

"We gutted the store, did the inside. Now that summer is here, we started our outside phase two completion, which is the exterior of the building and the addition of gasoline," said Owner David Butterfield.

Now the store wants to thank its customers for their support during construction. On Saturday, Tradewinds is holding a big celebration both inside and outside.

"A bounce house is going to be from 11-3, football toss, and free throw shooting contest, and there'll be a free barbeque for all the customers," said Buttfield.

In addition to the food and fun, Tradewinds has another big special planned. From 9-5, they'll be pumping gas for just $2.99 a gallon.

"It's going to be a good day and a great chance for people to have a 2 in front of the gas price, probably be the last time for quite some time," said Butterfield.

The owner hopes this celebration may help bring in some new customers, but he says so far, the community has been very supportive.

"Overall the people, they love it. We're getting people from Orneville, a few people from Dover and surrounding areas, Millinocket. The addition of the gasoline really helped the sales," said Butterfield.

Adding gas to what they offer might just be the beginning of making Tradewinds a one stop shop. The owner hopes to add on again this spring with a pharmacy and possibly a big name franchise.
