Holden -
A lot of us are inspired by our pets, but Jenny Dwyer of Holden was inspired in a big way. It all started with creating a balm for her dog's nose when it needed sunscreen.
"We just kind of came up with a concoction and we kept trying it in the kitchen different ways and finally got a recipe that worked really well," said Dwyer.
It worked so well that she and her husband were inspired to create an entire line of products. It's called Mutt Nose Best and it's made up of doggy shampoos, conditioners and scented sprays. They're all natural and all made right here in Maine.
"We try to use all natural ingredients. We get as many of our ingredients around here as we can," said Dwyer.
The line was launched just three weeks ago but it's already being sold on the web and at 26 different stores.
"There are lots of places around town and we're all the way down in to New Jersey, Pennsylvania," said Dwyer.
While these products can make your dog feel good, buying them does some good. Each month, Mutt Nose Best is donating a percentage of its profits to a different pet charity voted on by its customers.
You can check the products out at MuttNoseBest.com.
