The Maine Turnpike Authority is suing its former executive director.
It claims Paul Violette owes $450,000.
He's accused of spending Turnpike Authority money on such things as gift cards, and upscale hotels and restaurants.
Violette resigned in March.
The attorney general's office is investigating.
