im not going to lie i grew up in a small town and my only idea of a pit bull back then was a shark with 4 legs how wrong i was at that point i had no idea the dog was as ficticious as a darn yeti i had never seen one didnt now what one looked liked my notions were based on imagineation and fear that was intilled from i dont even know where and actually i recolect being just about afraid of any breed of dog with a few minor detail" like the locking jaw when you hear that as a kid intantly simagine some sort of moster mechanical rapid shutting mouth with razor sharp teeth that could rip through darn near anything but as your reading this what pops into your head the incredanle description of a mean vicious evil monster and it is that same preconseaved notion mixed with a small bit of fact that not only pitbulls but any mistreated abused k-9, doesnt even have to be a dog will turn on its owner or any person as far as that goes i mean what kid of damage do you think a horse could do if provoked im sure its aloot more damage than any single dog and im not her to put a stigma on horses it is mearly an example for christ sakes i dont abuse my animals and ive been bitten by my bird it drew blood i play with my cat and lets say his reflexes are far more superior than my own and he wil claw me pretty darn well but here i go ramble ing and i apologize for getting of topic it wasnt until 2 years ago i rescued a dog that some jerk off was just going to drop him off in the middle of now where to fend for its elf remember back to the begining of my story i said i grew up in the woods ive been waiting for the school bus at 615 in the mornig i was looking down the street trying to spot th bus what do i see 1 freakin huge maine black bear and this is the same sort of location this dick was going to leave the pitbull but as an animal lover i couldnt let that happen ..."at the time i was still fearfull of theese beautiful majestic animals within the hour that dog was on my lap licking the hell right out of my face and insantly i had shead my fear pretty much instantaniously i have never had that happen before you could tell this dog was abused physicly and as all physicaly abused any thin the abuse is also mental too i knew this dog could pose a potentialy dangerous situation but crap you could run into a worse situation just walking down the street in bangor but back to the dog my cats loved that dog how ever the dog wasnt too keen on the cats as a matter of fact that dog was suprisingly petrified of the cats it was such a head spin to see this beefed up dog hiding in a corner with its tail tucked between its legs int never took a harmful cord with any of my animal cat , rabbit , bird , turtle it was wonderfull with kids strangers adults it was the most lovable dog i have ever owned and i myself also had to the the best thing for that dog i lived in a small apartment in bangor at the time i had him every where i went that dog went i even got so good with that dog i would let go of his leah and he would walk in my stride and even after a while he would pick up his handle of leah and continue to walk with me and bare with me he eventualy started grabbing my pant leg to stop me from crossing the road and he wouldnt let me cross until he knew it was ok to do so and thinking back on the awsome but sadley brief our relation ship was i had to do the right thing by him and permit him to go live on a huge open farm with a couple of rugrats a few pigs over all i was torn and my heart deeply broken my dog inevadentally went from horribly abusive to an incredably loved family that dog payed me back by breaking my fear of " M O N S T E R D O G S" so the next time some spieces biggot dog hater says OH DONT GET A PIT BULL THEY'LL TEAR YOUR HEAD OFF " REMIND THEM SO COULD YOUR SEATBELT OF YOUR CAR IS IT TO MUCH TO GIVE MANS BEST FRIEND THE SAME AMOUNT OF RESPECT AS YOU WOULD A GIVE
ANY PERSON SO TRUST ME WHEN I SAY ITS NOT THE DOG ITS THE OWNER WHO TURNS THE DOG INTO A RAVING MAD MAN IF SOME KIDS PARENTS BEAT THE HELL OUT OF HIM HOW DO YOU THINK THE KID WOULD ACT ... IM GUESSING IN UTMOST DESPERATE MESURES SELF PRESERVATION IS A BITH AND WELL NATURE WILL BE NATURE FLIGHT OR FLIGHT ITS NOTHIN THAT JUST MAGICLY CAME ABOUT IT THE REASON WHY THE STRONG SURVIVE IT SUCKS BUT WHEN YOU PUSH ANYTHING TO ITS BRINK WELL THERE IS SOME AWSOME SCIENCE BEHIND IT... EVERY RECATION CAUSES AN EQUAL AND OPPOSITE REACTION

There are no bad dogs, only bad owners. After hearing the story on the radio, I am having a very hard time buying the fact that this dog was a Pitbull. There has to be another breed mixed in. Why do I say that you may ask? Well, I have had many pitbulls and been around many, and never have I seen a pitbull that weighs 125 pounds. The area that this dog was kept makes me believe that this dog was always outside and didn't have much, if any, human contact. The pitbull breed is very loving and loyal when the owners know what they are doing. I will agree that this isn't a breed that a first time dog owner should have. They need to be taught right from wrong and what is acceptable behavior and what isn't. ANY dog can be dangerous, and EVERYONE needs to be reminded of that. I find it amazing that we never hear about other breeds biting. I don't buy that there aren't other dog biting incidents by another breed.

I think any dog can be dangerous, it depends on the owner. I have a pittbull. She is a very sweet dog. I have trained her a socialised her well. I have many people see her and say " OMG a pittbull" I talk with them and then they after a little time will pet my dog and are very shocked to see how gental and sweet she is. I have been dog attacked before by a German shepard...dose it make them all mean? No, it is deff. the owner. It is a huge responsibility to train your dog of any kind well. Pittbulls are only mean if trained to be mean...they are really very loal and loving.

I am an animal lover, I do not think that pits are dangerous. I think it is all on how you raise your animal, people sometimes raise pits to be mean but thats because the are ignorant people. I have had many pits and never a problem. They are animals. I get so mad because if a pit bites someone it's all over the news even if they bite another dog,but let any other dog bite someone or another dog nothing is said that's not right.. I love PITS and I vote NO!!
