Bangor -
On Friday, golfers teed off for a good cause. It was the annual Lee Golf Scramble to benefit the Penobscot County Special Olympics.
More than 100 golfers participated including celebrity putter TV5's Todd Simcox.
It included different contests within the golf match all to raise money for the special olympians, equipment, and training.
"It's fundraising for all the equipment for the Special Olympics," said Daniel Scott, Special Olympics athlete.
"It's not about me, it's not about anybody else. It's about the athletes and to give them an opportunity to shine and I think that's what's really important," said Andrea Lee of the Penobscot County Special Olympics.
"Thank you for supporting the Special Olympics," said Kelly Welton, Special Olympics athlete.
This is their primary fundraising event for the year. Last year's event raised over $5,000.
