Like too old food, the food pyramid has been tossed aside.
The federal government is now serving up a plate, instead of a pyramid, approach to eating.

"HANDY" MEASURING
One Cup = Your closed fist or tennis ball
1/2 Cup = Aerosol spray can cover or 1/2 tennis ball
1 Ounce of meat or cheese = Your thumb
1 ounce of nuts or candy bits = what will fit in your cupped palm
3 ounce serving of meat = your hand (minus fingers) or deck of cards
Tablespoon = thumb tip
Teaspoon = fingertip
