Makes 4 burgers
Ingredients:
1 1/4 lbs. ground chuck, from chuck shoulder roast
3/4 tsp. kosher salt
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
Directions:
Preheat grill on high.
In a large bowl spread out the ground chuck. Sprinkle salt, garlic powder and black pepper evenly over meat. Toss lightly to distribute the seasonings.
Divide meat mixture into quarters. Using hands carefully form each into a ball and then press lightly into patties about 3/4" thick. Patties can be made ahead and refrigerated.
Turn grill to low, place burgers on grill, cover and cook flipping about halfway through cooking time.
Rare - 3 minutes on each side
Medium-rare - 4 minutes on each side
Medium - 5 minutes on the first side and 4 minutes on the second.
Well - 5 minutes on each side
Serve with buns and toppings.
