Bangor -
Wednesday was the official start of the new year but the Bangor Chinese School and Chinese Language and Culture Center hosted a party Saturday.
Folks attending the party could enjoy all kinds of food and performances from singing to dancing.
About 150 people were expected to attend the festivities for the year of the rabbit.
"The Chinese New Year is the biggest and largest holiday of China and this is the year of the rabbit. That's to indicate health, wealth and harmony," said Jing Zhang, President of the Bangor Chinese School.
Organizers say they expect it to be a great year and are already thinking about next year's celebration.
