Bangor -
Young mothers across the state are getting a helping hand, thanks to the community.
Earlier this month we told you about Bangor's Biggest Baby Shower. Radio stations WHCF and Solution FM took up a collection for anything new moms and babies would need.
The public donated hundreds of diapers, wipes, baby clothes, bottles, formula and more throughout the state.
"We are just so thrilled to receive these things and we understand it's hard for people to give in this economy but they do it just the same. They love young parents and they love babies and children and it seems like a natural fit, so we're thankful," says Suz Kasprzak, executive director of First Step Pregnancy Center in Bangor.
"We're just blessed that we have the opportunity to provide some items for these young moms who may not be able to provide them for themselves," adds Joe Polek, promotions director for Lighthouse Radio Network.
Donations will be given to First Step Pregnancy Center in Bangor, Pregnancy Care Center in Houlton and the Family Resource Center in Calais.
