Deer Hunters Discover Human Remains

Belmont - For the third time this month, deer hunters have found the remains of a body in the woods of Maine.

The latest discovery was in Belmont on Saturday at around 11:00 a.m.

State Police said the skeletal remains were found about a mile into the woods off the back Belmont Rd.

State Police say they are looking at the possibility the remains may be that of Charles Springer, 68, of Belmont who's been missing since May 2008.

He wandered away from his home on the Halls Corner Rd. and was the subject of several searches.

The body found Saturday was about 1.7 miles from Springer's house.
