It's "Step Up For Kids Day" in Maine, and throughout America.
Local lawmakers were invited on a tour to learn more about early education programs funded by the State.
About a dozen hopped aboard a school bus. Five stops were made at Augusta Area Childcare Centers.
Organizers say the goal is to get policy makers to make kids a priority when the session reconvenes.
This is the third year Maine has taken part in Step Up For Kids Day.
