Bangor - A Brewer man is charged with Cruelty to Birds after police say he threw rocks at seagulls in Pickering Square in Bangor.

Juan Puig is accused of injuring one of the seagulls, breaking its wing.

Witnesses say a group of people were throwing potato chips at the birds, luring them in, and then Puig would assault them with rocks.

Police say a bystander placed the injured bird in a cardboard box. It was later euthanized by a game warden.
