Ram Island -
A Picturesque Maine lighthouse that became the center of an auction's bidding war has been sold, to a doctor from Windham.
The 105-year-old Ram Island ledge lighthouse sold for 190-thousand dollars on Tuesday. A spokesman for the U.S. General Services Administration in Boston says Dr. Jeffrey Florman, a neurosurgeon, is the new owner.
The 72-foot working light tower was auctioned off online by the federal government. The lighthouse is on a rocky ledge a mile off Cape Elizabeth.
